  • The Scottish Government has announced significant reductions in Housing Association Grant (HAG) funding levels for the coming years. The Board will meet at a later date to discuss the options available to River Clyde Homes.
  • The Director of Asset Management post will not be filled at present. The duties will be split between the Director of Housing Strategy and the Director of Corporate Strategy as is the current arrangement.
  • The Board approved the appointment of a new Board member, Mr Kennedy Foster who will take his place on the Board from March 2011.
  • The Board noted the use of two Schedule 7 exceptions in relation to offers of accommodation.
  • Given the current financial climate, The Board approved a number of alterations to the future SHQS work plans to ensure that the standard is met within approved budgets.
  • Currie Brown consultants contract has been extended to maintain a project management resource for investment works.
  • The Board agreed to move to a "design and build" approach for external investment works. This will be facilitated by the current framework contract.
  • The annual rent setting conference took place on Saturday, 29th January and was well attended. In line with the rent guarantee given at transfer, the annual rent increase for 2011/2012 will be 4.5%.
  • Approval given to proceed with the lowest tender in relation to the Lot 3 New Build contract at South West Greenock, subject to the outcomes of discussions with the Scottish Government with regards to HAG funding levels and cash flow terms.
  • Following consultation with tenants, approval was granted to close Selkirk Court in preparation for demolition. Work is now underway to clear the property and re-house any remaining tenants.
  • The Board noted the current position in relation to performance.
  • The Board noted the current position in relation to progress made on the Internal Management Plan (IMP).
  • The Board noted the current position in relation to financial monitoring.
  • Reductions in funding levels for Housing Support have been proposed by Inverclyde Council. Representatives of RCH will meet with the Council to discuss the implementation of any funding cuts.
