2012 January Minutes

  • The Board approved the plan to continue with the Belville Community Garden development as part of Wider Role activities. A further bid for funding will now be submitted to the Big Lottery Fund
  • The Board granted authority to close the following properties for demolition and back date the status change to 15/11/11:
    • 12 – 18 Skye Road, Port Glasgow
    • 2 Merlin Lane, Greenock
    • 30 Falcon Lane, Greenock
    • 127 Mallard Crescent, Greenock
  • Negotiations will continue with our local partners to establish meaningful outcomes to be obtained from the Inverclyde Financial Inclusion Strategy
  • The disclosure of interest policy will be amended to allow Board members to decide individually whether a conflict of interest may exist and to this end all Board members will be given access to all papers  due to considered at future Board meetings
  • The Board noted the use of a schedule 7 exception on 14 occasions since the last meeting in November 2011 and approved their recoding in the register
  • The crime working group met on the 15th November 2011 and will continue to work with our local partners to tackle crime and anti social behaviour on our estates
  • The Board held its annual strategy day on the 8th November. The outcomes from the day will be used to inform the strategic plan for the coming year
  • Delegated authority was granted to enter into negotiations with Wellington Pre 5 Nursery, Playgroup & Out of School Care for the lease of an area of ground adjacent to 19 – 21 Lynedoch Street for the purposes of a children’s play area

  • Authority was granted to procure services for cash collection and the provision of a stock condition survey
  • The Board agreed to consult with tenants on applying the rent increase for 2012 at the rate of Retail Price Index (RPI) published for October 2011 at 5.4%.
  • Following recent consultation exercises, work is on going in relation to the Estate Services Review
  • The Board was updated on progress in relation to a number of outstanding issues following the recent office move. The Board wished to express their gratitude for the dedication and effort of staff during the move particularly given the severe weather conditions being experienced at the time
  • The Board was updated on legal developments within HR and their likely impact on RCH
  • The Board agreed to grant an additional day’s annual leave for all staff to mark the Queen’s Jubilee. The additional day will be added to staff’s annual leave entitlement for 2012.
  • The next Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, 14th February 2011
