Mairi and William Wright have been jointly recognised as Real Community Heroes. The couple moved to Greenock two years ago and have already made a positive impression. The couple clean every landing in the property and have been recognised for being the type of neighbour anyone would benefit from having.
In August 2009, we unveiled our six Real Community Heroes nominated by members of the local community.
The Real Community Heroes, who all live in RCH homes, were recognized for representing the spirit of Inverclyde and having a positive impact on the community in which they live.
Roy Steel, chair of the RCH board, said: "We received a lot of very deserving nominations for Real Community Heroes, but I believe the six we have chosen really encompass all that is positive about living in Inverclyde."
"We were delighted with the number and quality of the nominations received; it is clear that are a lot of very community orientated people currently living in River Clyde Homes’ houses."
"Our six heroes are all fantastic people and make a real difference to the daily lives of others. We have two joint heroes as their good work was so closely linked. It is heart warming to see that all ages within the community are involved in positive activity in the area."
