DEADLINE EXTENDED TO TUESDAY 31 MARCH
People now have more time to nominate their unsung community heroes across Inverclyde as the deadline has been extended to Tuesday 31st March.
The search for Real Community Heroes is the first phase of the Up Close campaign, which is a ground-breaking community initiative by River Clyde Homes which will celebrate Inverclyde's heritage, shape its future and evidence the community spirit of the people.
Karen Neary, chief executive of River Clyde Homes, said: "We're enjoying a great response to nominations for the Up Close campaign but would like to give River Clyde Homes' residents an extra few days to nominate someone they know who really makes a difference in their community."
All nominations for Real Community Heroes must be over 16 and live in a River Clyde Homes property. However people nominated can be new to the area, well known and recognised for their contribution to the community or doing small good deeds that can make the world of difference to their neighbours.
The six people chosen to be the faces of the Up Close campaign will each secure £500 of funding for an Inverclyde community initiative of their choice. The Real Community Heroes will be officially unveiled in the summer when the Up Close exhibition launches in Oak Mall.
There's still time to nominate your Real Community Hero by completing an entry online or collecting a form from River Clyde Homes, libraries, leisure premises or your RCH neighbourhood officer.
