Landmark Contract Signed

We are pleased to announce that a landmark framework agreement for the first four years of its new-build programme has been signed.

This over-arching document is a contract pre-selection process involving three contractors: CCG (Scotland) Ltd, Lovell and Cruden Building and Renewals Ltd. It gives River Clyde Homes a pool of high-quality experience to deliver on its multi-tenure new build development across Inverclyde over the next four years.

In her last formal duty as chief executive, Karen Neary signed the document on behalf of RCH saying: “This is a significant landmark in our ambitious regeneration programme. We now have a pool of experienced and reputable contractors who, following a rigorous and robust selection process, will be able to tender for the individual contracts.”

The pre-selection process will enable River Clyde Homes to proceed with its ambitious plans at a greater pace, saving time on having to deal with up to 80 individual tenders for each contract. It also gives the housing association confidence to know who it is dealing with.

Darren McCann, Partnership & Innovation Manager at CCG said: “This signing marks another significant step in progressing River Clyde Homes’ ambitious plans to create new high quality housing across Inverclyde. As constructor for the first phase of regeneration at East Greenock, CCG is delighted to be working in partnership with RCH to deliver the new homes for local people.”

Allan Callaghan, managing director of Cruden Building and Renewals Ltd, said: “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with River Clyde Homes and look forward to creating vibrant new communities in Inverclyde. Cruden has a wealth of experience building for both the public and private sector across Scotland and our aim is not just to build modern homes, but to enhance the communities in which we work by providing employment opportunities in the form of apprenticeships and teaching life-long skills that can help stimulate local economies.”

Alan Taylor, regional director for affordable housing and regeneration specialist Lovell, says: “We’re delighted to have been selected by River Clyde Homes to help answer the demand for high-quality, new affordable housing locally. We look forward to working closely with RCH and the local community as the build programme goes ahead.”

Karen Neary added: “One of the great benefits of working within a framework is that we can build meaningful working relationships with contractors; working together to bring additional value to contracts through employment opportunities and working with local communities.”
