RCH will not carry out adaptations in houses that have been modernised or have improved kitchens and bathrooms, nor in houses that are subject to Right To Buy.
If RCH is unable to carry out an adaptation, the tenant can ask for permission to carry out the adaptation themselves.
Where RCH is unable to adapt a house, it will seek to assist the tenant to move to a suitably adapted house.
River Clyde Homes is a housing association and has to balance the needs of tenants with financial governance. While RCH does not have a legal obligation, we will, wherever possible, seek to assist in meeting a tenant’s needs.
We aim to adapt about 700-800 of our houses on ground floors and in lift accessible properties by 2012 and these adapted houses will form the basis of meeting tenants’ needs.
