District Heating Meter Upgrades
River Clyde Homes to Upgrade Customer Meters at District Heating Networks

9 February 2026

River Clyde Homes is beginning an extensive programme to upgrade customer meters across its District Heating Networks, commencing this month. These new meters are designed to provide more precise readings and enhanced reliability, whilst delivering superior energy-management services for the future.
The upgrade involves the installation of the T230 heat meter and G10 Pay As You Go system across the networks. This work will be conducted in phases by Switch2 Energy to ensure a seamless transition.
All affected customers will be contacted directly prior to any scheduled visits. Disruption will be kept to a minimum, and residents can be assured that heating and hot water services will remain uninterrupted throughout the changeover process.
Following the recent appointment of AMP Clean Energy to oversee the fuel supply, operation, and maintenance of assets at the Broomhill, Eastern View, and Cartsdyke Energy Centres, this investment marks RCH's ongoing commitment to our customers and is a significant step in modernising the local energy infrastructure.
This initiative is a core component of a long-term strategy to:
- Improve energy efficiency across our heat networks.
- Enhance the customer experience through more reliable technology.
- Ensure heating networks remain modern, resilient and cost-effective for years to come.
