The funding will be used to help households not in receipt of free school meals with £100 being made available per child.

This means River Clyde Homes will be able to support an incredible 130 children under 18 throughout the community.

Angela Docherty, Community Support Officer, said: "These funds will allow us to provide basic essentials such as food, clothing, toiletries or support with fuel bills etc, tailored to the individual needs of the families and children.

"We will be working in partnership with Belville Community Gardens to deliver this.

"To date we have received over £29,000  from Cash for Kids to support the Inverclyde Community and this latest funding via Cash for Kids is very welcome.

"It allows us to reach out to those who may in the past have slipped through the net and to continue to support families and children who are experiencing real hardship in these difficult times."
