River Clyde Homes Announce Major Housing Stock Investment Plans
River Clyde Homes (RCH) is delighted to announce record levels of investment in our housing stock. We plan to deliver over £60 million of investment over the next five years, forming part of an estimated £100 million commitment over the next decade. This expanded investment programme reflects our long-term focus on improving the quality, safety and energy efficiency of our homes across Inverclyde, strengthening the services our customers rely on.
To support delivery of this investment plan, our Property Services management structure has been strengthened over the past year through a series of management changes and additional technical and operational resources. This reinforced team is ensuring the organisation is well placed to plan, coordinate and deliver the scale of investment required over the coming years.
This year around £14 million will be invested, primarily on the following:
- Regeneration and void improvements to accelerate turnaround times and enhance key neighbourhoods.
- Safety and compliance activity to ensure all homes continue to meet ever increasing safety standards.
- Roof and render replacement to provide a fabric first approach to energy efficiency and heating upgrades to support warmer, more affordable homes.
- Core component upgrades such as kitchens, bathrooms, rewiring, and essential building elements.
Home Fix Scotland will continue to be our primary contractor for routine repairs activity, supporting local employment, providing apprenticeship opportunities for local young people and ensuring continuity of service for customers.
A key part of this transformation is the modernisation of our repairs service, supported by the recent launch of a fully integrated repairs system. This new system will streamline processes, improve communication with customers, and enhance the overall repairs experience.
Andrew Kubski, Property Services Director, said: "This represents one of the most significant periods of investment RCH has committed to. This investment will go towards modernising homes, delivering more energy efficient properties and helping to improve our services year on year. Our focus is firmly on ensuring every customer feels the benefit of this long-term commitment."
Derek Ferguson, Managing Director of Home Fix Scotland, said: “This investment in a new repairs system marks a major step in transforming the repairs service for customers. The system will help us deliver clearer communication, quicker responses, and a more reliable experience for our customers.”
