Providing a helping hand in the community
Staff from River Clyde Homes’ Inclusive Communities Team were on hand recently to offer advice on benefits and financial support to local church leaders.
31 August 2022
Labour MSP, Paul O’Kane, hosted a special drop-in for church leaders last Friday in Greenock which focused on financial resilience and cost of living advice, after being asked for help in giving financial advice to people by a local priest.
Organisations in attendance at the event in St Mary's Church included Inverclyde Advice & Employment Rights Centre, Financial Fitness and representatives from RCH including Financial Wellbeing and Income Maximisation.
Alexis Gault, Financial Wellbeing Officer, who attended on the day said “This event was very worthwhile, particularly at the moment, with the cost-of-living crisis affecting so many of our customers. Church leaders will now be able to effectively signpost their congregation to organisations that may be helpful to them.”
