This time last week, residents of Riverside Garden were indulging in celebrations to mark the Queen’s Jubilee thanks in part to their local Sainsburys and florist, Studio Flowers, on Kempock Street, Gourock.

Sainsbury’s manager Paul McCallum reached out to Emma, a Support Warden at the residential block, to donate an assortment of cakes and biscuits whilst Studio Flowers provided some decorative flair with the donation of flowers for each table.

Local premises weren’t the only ones contributing to the party atmosphere, as one resident’s family also provided some delicious home baking to accompany their afternoon tea, ensuring that everyone could take home a doggy bag of goodies.

The party atmosphere lasted all day, with local singer Craig Johnson, providing the hits before residents took part in a raffle raising over £160.

The celebration marks the first time that residents have been able to get together since Covid-19 and it will no doubt be the first of many.
