Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2025

RCH Group’s Apprenticeship Programme is a great opportunity for young people to develop skills and gain valuable work experience which can then lead to enhanced employment opportunities. It’s a great way to get valuable hands-on experience within a workplace while achieving a nationally recognised qualification. RCH Group offer a range of Modern Apprenticeships, Trade Apprenticeships and Horticultural Apprenticeships across a range of frameworks including business and administration, joinery, plumbing, electrical, painting and decorating. 

In recent years we have successfully recruited 29 apprentices across the group.  Below we can see some of what they have achieved and what they are up to now.

River Clyde Homes Modern Apprenticeships.

1 x Modern Apprentice Customer Experience.  Starting in 2022 and quickly achieving a Business and Administration SCQF Level 6 .  He has secured a permanent Customer Experience Officer position and has recently been supported to start a fully funded Graduate Apprenticeship (GA) BA (Hons) Business Management degree at Glasgow Caledonian University. 

1 x Modern Apprentice Customer Experience.  Starting in 2023 has achieved the Business and Administration SCQF Level 6 qualification and completed their apprenticeship and secured a temporary position as Customer Experience Officer.

1 x Modern Apprenticeship Customer Experience and Business Administration Assistant started in 2024 and on course to complete Business and Administration SCQF Level 6 qualification.

1 x Modern Apprenticeship Customer Experience and Business Administration Assistant started in 2023 and completed the Business and Administration SCQF Level 6 qualification and is currently working in social housing.

1 x Modern Apprentice Digital Application Support started in 2022 and completed the Digital Applications Support SCQF 6/7 qualification.  Completing his 18-month apprenticeship, he went on to work with our IT team in a temporary post before going on to university to study an IT related degree.

1 x RCH Modern Apprenticeship Finance Support Administration Assistant started in 2024 and on course to complete Business and Administration SCQF Level 6 qualification.

1 x RCH Modern Apprenticeship Housing Administration Assistant started in 2024 and on course to complete Business and Administration SCQF Level 6 qualification. 

HFS Modern Apprenticeships

1 x HFS Modern Apprentice Business & Administration Assistant started in 2022 has achieved the Business and Administration SCQF Level 6 qualification and completed their apprenticeship currently working as temporary HFS Admin Assistant.

1 x Modern Apprentice Customer Experience.  Starting in 2023 has achieved the Business and Administration SCQF Level 6 qualification and completed their apprenticeship and secured a temporary position as HFS Work planner.

1 x HFS Modern Apprentice Business & Administration Assistant started in 2024 has already achieved the Business and Administration SCQF Level 6 qualification and gaining valuable experience working in our busy stores department.

1 x HFS Modern Apprenticeship Work Planner Administration Assistant started in 2024 has achieved the Business and Administration SCQF Level 6 and working in busy repairs and maintenance office.

HFS Trade Apprenticeships

1 x HFS Apprentice Electrician started in 2022 and in 3rd year of the 4-year apprenticeship on course to qualify as an Electrician.

1 x HFS Apprentice Electrician started in 2023 and in 2nd year of 4-year apprenticeship and on course to qualify as an Electrician.

1 x HFS Apprentice Joiner started in 2019 completed his apprenticeship and has secured a permanent full-time position as HFS Joiner.   

1 x HFS Apprentice Joiner started in 2019 completed his apprenticeship and secured a permanent position with HFS as a Joiner before recently leaving to embark on a new career pursuing his dream to work abroad.

2 x HFS Apprentice Joiners started in 2022 and are currently enjoying their 3rd year of 4-year apprenticeship.

1 x HFS Apprentice Joiner started in 2022 and left to pursue another avenue.

2 x HFS Apprentice Joiners started in 2023, in 2nd year of their apprenticeship.

2 x HFS Plasterer Apprentices, both starting in 2022 are in their 3rd year of their apprenticeships.

1 x HFS Plumber Apprentice started in 2022 aged 16, now in third year of his apprenticeship and will qualify next year.

1 x HFS Roofer Apprentice started in 2019.   Having completed his apprenticeship last year has now secured a permanent full-time job as HFS Roofer. 

1 x HFS Roofer Apprentice started in 2022 and left to pursue another avenue.

1 x HFS Bricklayer – started in 2019 and left to pursue a different career.

2 x HFS Painter and Decorator Apprentices, both starting in 2024 have got off to a terrific start and are really enjoying the first year of the 4-year apprenticeship.

1 x HFS Horticulture Apprentice worked towards the Horticulture SVQ2 and left to pursue a different career path.
