SHR Compliance
Regulator Status Update

15 May 2026
Scottish Housing Regulator Engagement Plan
The safety and wellbeing of our tenants, residents and staff is our highest priority.
We recently identified issues relating to some of our record keeping and reporting linked to electrical safety checks in our homes. As soon as we became aware of this, we informed the Scottish Housing Regulator.
At the same time, we commissioned an independent review of our wider approach to safety compliance to ensure we fully understood the issue and any improvements required.
The review found that while compliance works were being carried out properly, improvements were needed in some of the systems and processes used to record, monitor and report this information, as identified in the SHR Engagement plan.
We have already started implementing a detailed improvement plan to strengthen these arrangements further. This includes:
- improving systems and processes for recording safety information,
- strengthening internal checks and oversight,
- increasing support and resources dedicated to this work, and
- improving how compliance information is monitored and reported.
We have kept the Scottish Housing Regulator informed throughout and will continue to work openly and constructively with them as these improvements are delivered.
We understand tenants and residents may have questions and concerns. We are committed to learning from this process and continuing to provide safe homes and services for the people and communities we serve.
