Open Doors Event 2026 - how we showcased the best of the future of RCH Group!

The Young Persons Working Group delivered a hugely successful Open Doors Event on Thursday as part of Scottish Apprentice Week 2026. The day featured two sessions, giving our young people the chance to deliver some insights on exactly what it is that makes them want to be part of the team at RCH Group.

Participants took on key roles throughout the event welcoming attendees, speaking to the audience, and leading a Q&A session in the breakout room, and it was brilliant to see them bring such a level of professionalism to the event.

The response from the community was exceptional, with 84 people registering to attend - and even more arriving on the day. Those who joined us included pupils from local schools, college students, employability partners, and members of our Executive and Senior Leadership Teams, as well as Board Members and Local MSP Stuart McMillan.

Liz Taylor, Chair of the Board and Board Member for HFS and RCH, shared her admiration for the young people who took part: “The Young People Group are all to be commended on the content, their presentation skills and for simply being the best ambassadors for the organisation that we would wish for. Good too to see different parts of RCHG explained – and the varied opportunities available. Individual case studies were incredibly powerful and at times, quite emotional. There are stars in the making!

Please convey my thanks to all those who took part in both the ‘live’ presentations and in the making of the videos. It was such a pleasure to glimpse what the future of RCHG might look like.”

Apprenticeship Week Visit with Jamie Greene MSP

To round off Scottish Apprenticeship Week, Home Fix Scotland young people took part in a productive session with Jamie Greene MSP, where they presented an overview of their roles, shared their experiences, and highlighted the skills they are developing within HFS. The session was well supported, with apprentices, HFS colleagues, HR colleagues, Richard and representatives from CITB, Skills Development Scotland all in attendance, contributing to a strong and collaborative atmosphere.

Following the presentation, apprentices engaged in a Q&A with Jamie. The session provided valuable insight and meaningful engagement, marking a positive and professional conclusion to Apprenticeship Week.
